1:Revamping spree: The year 2011 seems to be a big year for Google as the company has come up with two new projects - Google Plus and Online music store and has also given a facelift to its gamut of services. From YouTube to Gmail, all its key services have undergone a major facelift. Here are some key changes introduced by Google this year.

2:YouTube has reprogrammed its website to make it easier for viewers to find and watch their favourite channels. The facelift is the latest step in YouTube's attempt to make the Internet's most popular video site as easy to navigate. It has been reorganised to display three main vertical columns instead of scattering clips in horizontal rows.

Odyssey,Tech fest of HBTI Kanpur

An idea originates and finds someone through whom it can manifest itself. That fortunate someone, experiences during the birth process, a feeling which is beyond description. Imagine for a moment that you are witnessing the creation of the universe. That’s Odyssey. Odyssey witnesses priceless, rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry among the youth of this country. Odyssey affirms a pulsating and dynamic competitive platform for the budding technocrats of the nation. Odyssey incorporates the vitality to cajole them into being the custodian of what is actually their birth-right, which is talent, creativity and above all their identity. The seed were sown in 1985 and under the care and guidance of our respected and dedicated seniors it is in full stretch to fruitify. Following their path and layouts this time it’s our opportunity to hold this fest .Odyssey has drawn a footfall of about 10,000 youths from various schools and technical institutes, from all over the country previously and as it’s been 25 years we are in very much enthusiasm and full of zest to take the platform to the next level and floor almost double crowd this year.
Odyssey is the annual inter-collegiate cultural festival organised by the Council of Student Activities at Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur. It is one of the largest cultural festivals organised in northern India, attracting more than 1000 participants and 5000 visitors every time it is held.
It collaborates all the various club like the cultural sub council, literary club, hobby club, sports club, personality development club, photography club, yoga club and N.S.S. It is one of the oldest and biggest youth festivals in the country. It consists of varied competitions, professional shows and lifestyle events, as well as discussions on socially relevant issues of the day.
2009, Odyssey received participants close to a 1000 and more than 4500 visitors. With the kind of diverse event list offered, Odyssey encourages participations from both academically and culturaly inclined students. HBTI was one of the first colleges in India to start with a cultural cum literary festival on its campus.
Odyssey 2010 is expected to be the most successful and rocking festival in the history of H.B.T.I. with the rock band "JAL" to be the center of attraction at the rock night. Kanpur is all set to welcome JAL.

HARCOURT BUTLER TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE, KANPUR

Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur is an academic autonomous engineering college under the Uttar Pradesh Technical University. Its programs have been conferred autonomous status under the university.[1] It is the second engineering institute in Uttar Pradesh after the former University of Roorkee. The institute holds ISO 9001:2000 Certification. It offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in engineering, as well as Masters degrees in Business administration and Computer Applications.
In 1959, when the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur was established, IIT classes were held in the canteen building of HBTI until IITK had its own campus.[2]
HBTI is also the mother institute of the National Sugar Institute, the Government Central Textile
Institute and the Glass Institute.
